Once upon a time, I went to Siberia. In winter. I survived. Instead of taking photos (my hands were too cold to hold the camera), I hoped to capture the time in words. Not every moment, just the ones that stood out to me for some reason.
Since then, I have been to many other cold places and one or two hot places (they can’t always be avoided).
Here is the result: a collection of stories about cultures very different and very similar to our own. Stories about traipsing through boggy moorland at home, cycling to the end of the world in Georgia and getting bitten by mosquitoes in Finland. Stories about the people I have encountered along the way.
I’m Rebecca, I’m 28 years old and I grew up not far from Dartmoor National Park in England. I love words, I love the mountains and I love adventure – in every shape and size. Since September, I’ve been living in Vienna, where I’ve been enjoying swimming in the Old Danube and trail running in the local woods.
